Paulo Alcazaren

Paulo Alcazaren completed his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degrees from the University of the Philippines at Diliman. He has a Master’s degree in Urban Design from the University of Singapore. He has been a practicing design consultant in urban design and landscape architecture for the last 30 years with twelve of those spent in Singapore, completing over a hundred and fifty projects in fourteen countries while based there. Alcazaren is the recipient of several awards for urban design and landscape architecture from Singapore and Malaysia. He is also an urban and architectural historian, critic and award-winning writer and photographer with several books and publications to his credit. He was editor in chief of BluPrint Magazine from 2002-2012 and is currently editor in chief of The Philippine Yearbook. He writes a regular column in the Philippine Star on architecture and design. He was the CCP Gawad para sa Sining award in 2015 for his body of work in urban design and landscape architecture. His advocacies are in heritage conservation, green cities, parks and open space, as well as bringing back sidewalks in our cities.
